After submitting the application, you will receive instructions on how to submit the additional application materials listed below through your online MyTU account. If you prefer, you may also mail these materials to

You will receive your nine-digit Temple University identification number (TUid) via email once you submit your application for admission. Be sure to include your name 和 TUid on all documents that you mail to Temple. View a complete set of application instructions for graduate study in the College of Education 和 Human Development.

Prerequisites

A master’s degree is not required. The PhD requires the completion of 106 credit hours post-baccalaureate.

Supporting Materials

  1. 成绩单: Submit official undergraduate 和 graduate transcripts from all accredited institutions you have attended 和/or from which you earned credit. Official transcripts can be emailed to educate@mipadron.com or sent to the Office of Enrollment Management address listed above.

  2. Statement of Goals: Write a 500- to 1,000-word statement in autobiographical style covering the following areas:

    1. How does the doctoral program at Temple fit your individual interests, needs 和 future goals (including the faculty member whose research best matches your own interests)?

    2. Why do you wish to become a school psychologist?

    3. What do you perceive as the role 和 functions of a school psychologist?

    4. What is your area of research focus?

  3. Academic Writing Sample: This should be a paper written for a course within the past five years. If applicants do not have a recent paper written for a course, they should compose an op-ed piece on the educational issue of their choosing. The op-ed should be between 400 和 1,200 words 和 should be the kind of piece that might appear in The New York Times or The Philadelphia Inquirer.

  4. Recommendations: Two letters of reference, preferably from college or university faculty, should be obtained to provide insight into your academic competences. Letters of reference may be requested electronically through your MyTU account.

  5. 简历: A current professional résumé is required.

  6. GRE分数: The test must have been taken within five years of the application date. Your official scores should be sent directly from the Educational Testing Agency. The institutional code for Temple is 2906. 

  7. 面试: An interview with the faculty admissions committee may be required after your application is complete.
